The 35th Annual Depression Glass & Pottery Show will be held on April 10 & 11, 2010 in the Illinois Building at the Illinois State Fair Grounds, Springfield, Illinois. Twenty-six (26) dealers from across several states will bring their best glass and/or pottery to the show.
Beginning in 2009 the Club also allowed some other "vintage" items that fit on the table tops, such as postcards, jewelry, linens, toys, etc. This was quite successful and will be allowed again in 2010.
Also for the first time in 2009 the Club held an "early bird special" for those who wanted first choice of the items being sold. The early bird special runs from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 at a $5.00 fee. During this time a $20 give certificate will be awarded. At 10:00 the show opens up to regular hours at a fee of $3.00. Beginning at 10 a.m. a $10 gift certificate will be awarded every hour on Saturday & Sunday.
Regular hours continue until 5:00 p.m on Saturday. Sunday hours are all regular hours and run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A beautiful display depicting the theme is always a nice feature in the lobby area. This display is made up of glass and pottery of the club members and is always a big hit with the attendees.
One club member is a gifted glass grinder who is able to repair chipped glass at a very decent fee.
As always, a refreshment stand is available along with a nice eating area where one can relax and enjoy the food, company and the beauty of the glass-filled room.
